Latisse…
Where have you been all my life? I guess in that one sentence I told you what I think of Latisse! Being blonde my eyelashes have never been anything to be excited about, you can’t see them without mascara and even with it they are short and not very full.
I have heard about lash extensions and the only reason I didn’t try it is because I didn’t want something that required continuous upkeep. I hadn’t tried Latisse because I was worried about being sensitive to the formula. My skin is very picky and I didn’t want to pay for something that might cause irritation and redness and turn out to be wasted money.
I got super lucky and won a blogging contest and Latisse was one of the prizes. I was excited to try it without having to pay for it in case I was allergic to it. I made an appointment at my local Elase Medical Spa because you need a prescription for Latisse.
I completed a questionnaire and met with them for instructions and to ask any questions that I had about the product. I was impressed to find out that you receive individually packaged sterile brushes to apply the formula, a new one for each eye every day.
I applied it the first night in a matter of moments with their simple process. You put a drop in the cap of the bottle and use one of the sterile brushes to smooth over the edge of your eyelash closest to your eyelid, repeat the process on the other eye and you are done. It is recommended that you apply it just before going to sleep so that formula will not get in your eye and the top lashes will touch the bottom lashes and help them to grow as well.
I applied it nightly and within a couple of weeks I started noticing a difference in the length, fullness and darkness of my lashes and it has continued to improve each week. Elase did a sale on Latisse that if you purchased a 5mL size bottle with 140 applicators (70 treatments) you could receive a 3mL bottle with 70 applicators (35 treatments) for free. It cost around $150 and would give me a total of 140 treatments with the bottle I already had.
The great news is that once you get your eyelashes to the point that you want them, usually around 12 to 16 weeks you can start using the formula every 2-3 days instead of nightly to maintain your lashes. I have had no redness or irritation or any negative issues with the formula. I have finished 80 treatments to date and am very pleased with the results. This will become a permanent part of my beauty routine.
I am not medically trained and everything I have written is based on my personal opinion, please do your research before trying any new products to find out what will work best for you.
