From the Blog:
This blog is for those of us with even a little bit of adventure in our souls. It started when some friends and I formed an adventure club so we would try something fun, new, interesting, or challenging every few months—the things we had always wanted to try but never had the nerve or the time to attempt. I hope the ideas posted here will inspire you and your friends to take a break from routine and have an adventure! As Helen Keller said, "Life is either a great adventure or nothing.”
These ladies are my idols! I love the idea, it is something I have been doing on my own, but the idea of having a club that shares the ideas, LOVE IT!
A few years ago, some friends formed an adventure club and named it the League of Adventurous Women. Over wine and appetizers they decided to sponsor four adventures per year. Each one would be an opportunity to try something new or challenging or just plain fun.
That was more than seven years ago and the group has tripled in size. They maintain an ever-growing, very eclectic, master list of possible adventures. They don't limit the adventure list in any way because what one woman finds adventurous another woman may find terrifying or routine; so variety gives everyone choices. Over the years, the League of Adventurous Women has done everything from trapeze lessons to flower arranging, ghost tours to skeet shooting and skydiving. They still meet every January to plan an adventurous year.
