I am a very spiritual person and I have always believed that there is a voice within me that knows my truth and my path. The challenge is in getting quiet enough to silence the other noises in my life so I can hear the voice. The easy part of the assignment is that I already believe in my truth teller and at many times during my life I have relied on its voice to help direct my journey.
The difficult part of this assignment was the art side of it. I am NOT a crafty girl so this does not come easy to me! To come up with a symbol for my truth teller was much more difficult than I could have imagined. My truth teller is not a single thing, it is not one spiritual being or one voice. I believe it is much bigger than that!
I believe in the ways of Native Americans and many other cultures that there is a higher power and it is all around us, it is mother earth and father sky, as wide as the ocean and as tall as the mountains and as powerful as the greatest storms and natural disasters. So how do you symbolize that on a page in a journal?
I would love to think that Dave or another relative is my guardian angel but I don't think it is as simple as that. I was trying to think bigger. I started to imagine how indians would have a spirit animal as their guide. I thought about what mine would be. Of course, I loved the idea of it being a wolf. I thought that was too easy and that I was picking something I love not something that was real for me. I was surprised when I did some questionnaires to find my spirit animal and it was the wolf! After reading all about it, I thought that the wolf could symbolize me. It wasn't my truth teller but it is a part of my spirit and part of what hears the messages. This is the page I created:
loyal, loving, fiercely protective and strong
My messenger is the dove
the sky- with all its colors
What is your truth teller? Do you know how to hear their message?
